All BJP MPs to pledge they don't have illegal foreign accounts

New Delhi: Friday, December 9, is world anti-corruption day and BJP members of both Houses of Parliament will take a pledge and declare that they do not have foreign bank accounts to stash away black money.

The main Opposition party announced today that the chairman of the BJP's parliamentary party, LK Advani, and the Leaders of Opposition in the two Houses - Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley - would submit the pledges of the MPs before the Speaker of the Lok Sabha and the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha tomorrow.

Senior leader SS Ahluwalia made the announcement after the BJP's parliamentary party meeting today. The party has kept up a focused attack on the UPA government on the issue of corruption in Parliament. Today, the party, along with its allies, forced two adjournments in both Houses seeking Home Minister P Chidambaram's resignation for his alleged role in the 2008 2G scam.

Outside Parliament too, the BJP has made the anti-corruption campaign a primary agenda; LK Advani toured the country on a 38-day anti-corruption yatra recently.
