Air India flights affected by London weather
New Delhi: Heavy snowfall continues to wreak havoc across Europe, dashing the hopes of those attempting to head away for the holidays by road, rail and air.

Heathrow Airport, Europe's busiest hub for air passengers, stopped accepting arrivals on Sunday at the start of the Christmas travel rush.

Following is a statement issued by Air India for its passengers:

In view of the prevailing bad weather conditions in London, Air India flights AI 111 / AI 112 on the Delhi / London / Delhi sector and AI 130 / AI 131 on the Mumbai / London / Mumbai sector of December 20, 2010 are being held back at the originating stations. The flights will be operated subject to necessary clearances from the London Heathrow Airport authorities.

In view of the above, Air India passengers bound for London from Mumbai and Delhi are requested to be in touch wit h Air India offices before reporting at the airports. Also, passengers who have bookings on these flights and who want to change them to a future date may do so without any additional charge.

Meanwhile Air India's Delhi-London flight of date departed at 1550 hrs clearing a majority of the stranded passengers of yesterday.
