Delhi: A passenger onboard an Air India plane from Delhi to Mumbai today fell sick, forcing the airline to recall the aircraft from the tarmac to the terminal to provide him medical aid.

The incident happened this morning, when Air India (AI) plane -- operating as flight AI-887 from Delhi to Mumbai -- was being pushed back for take-off at around 10 am, Air India said.

During this, one of the passenger complained about sickness and the crew immediately informed the pilot, who decided to turn the plane back from runway to the terminal, the airline said in a statement.

As per the procedure, the passenger was handed over to the doctors at the airport.

Another passenger, who was accompanying the unwell passenger, was deboarded, it said.

The flight, finally, took off from Delhi at 11:37 am, the statement said.
