First, Wagon-R Recall. Now, AAP Told to Return Party Logo.

A former supporter who claims to have designed the AAP logo, has asked the party to stop using it.

New Delhi:

First, the famous blue Wagon-R, the AAP-mobile was recalled by its donor. Now, a member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) says the party's logo was designed by him and he wants it returned to sender, stat.

Sunil Lal, who designed the logo, says he is quitting the party, and taking his intellectual property with him.

In a complaint to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Mr Lal has written, "The party should stop using the AAP logo designed by me as I have not transferred the proprietary rights of the design." He adds the logo "should not be used on any type of branding, stationary, website, badges, flags, poster, handbill and backdrops."

In a blog written for ndtv.com today, Kundan Sharma, an AAP supporter, enlists the reasons for his decision to seek the return for the WagonR that he donated to Mr Kejriwal two years ago. Like him, Mr Lal has objected to Mr Kejriwal's recent decision to evict estranged colleagues Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav from important party posts.

Senior AAP leader Kumar Vishwas, responding to those comments, said people who join a movement may fall out with their colleagues as it progresses. He also said that the AAP-mobile, as it was dubbed by the media during Mr Kejriwal's first term as Chief Minister, can be returned to the donor, if that's what's sought.
