52 Trains Delayed, 10 Rescheduled As Dense Fog Grips North India

Cold waves in North India continued to affect railway services.

New Delhi:

Dense fog and cold waves continued affect train services in North India as at least 52 trains were running late and 10 rescheduled on Wednesday morning.

The national capital recorded a minimum temperature of 7.5 degree Celsius whereas the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 23 degree Celsius today, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.

"The sky would remain partly cloudy with moderate to dense fog in the morning," an official of India Meteorological Department (IMD) told news agency IANS.

Northern Railway said that Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express was running over 24 hours behind schedule whereas the Sealdah Rajdhani and the Swatantrata Senani Express were running over 23 hours and 20 hours behind schedule.

Meanwhile, the Indira Gandhi International Airport reported that flight operations were only moderately affected and no flight was kept on hold on Wednesday.

Tuesday's maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 23.4 degree Celsius and 9.3 degree Celsius respectively.
