42 per cent polling in Jharkhand

Ranchi: An estimated 42 per cent of the electorate cast their votes till 1:00 pm in the fourth phase of assembly elections in 14 Maoist-affected constituencies in Jharkhand on Saturday. (Read: Jharkhand poll: Heavyweights in fourth phase)

According to Election Commission sources here, the polling was peaceful with tight security and air surveillance. (Read: 70 candidates with criminal record in third, fourth phase)

Elections are being held for Bahragora, Ghatsila, Potka, Ichagarh, Majhgaon, Manoharpur, Chakardharpur, Torpa, Sisai, Gumla, Bishunpur, Simdega, Kolebira and Lohardaga

Polling for 51 seats has been completed in the previous three phases while the final phase involving 16 seats will be held on December 18.
