14-year-old rape survivor allegedly made to strip by senior cop at police station in Uttar Pradesh

The teen had gone to the police station with her parents to register a rape complaint against a local resident

Lucknow:  A 14-year-old girl, who wanted to file a rape complaint, was allegedly forced to strip and humiliated by a senior police officer in Kushinagar in eastern Uttar Pradesh.

The teenager had gone on Saturday to the police station with her parents to file a report on her alleged rape by a local resident when the police station in-charge, Jais Raj Yadav, allegedly made her strip claiming he wanted to check if she was sexually assaulted.

"He took me into a room and closed the door. He then asked me to remove my clothes," the girl said today.

The cop also allegedly abused the girl and her parents and chased them away without filing a First Information Report or FIR.

The family later filed a complaint against the senior cop with the area's circle officer. Their rape complaint was finally taken and the accused man was also arrested.

The Superintendent of Police has ordered a probe against the cop.
