Police Case Filed Against Minister's Son For Rash Driving In Hyderabad

A police case has been registered on charge of rash driving against Minister YS Chowdary's son Karthik under section 184 (B) of MV Act and the Porsche car he was driving was seized.

Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Science and Technology YS Chowdary's son Karthik Chowdary was caught allegedly for rash driving by the Hyderabad Traffic Police. He was driving a Porsche late last night above 90 km per hour. The car has been seized, the police said.

Karthik has not been arrested but a fine will be imposed, the police said. Repeat offence ensures a police case.

The traffic police said it was conducting a special road safety drive last night, when they found Karthik driving the vehicle allegedly in a "rash" manner between Jubilee Hills and KBR Park, a popular stretch for the city's bike and car racers.

Thirteen others in 4 high-end cars and 10 bikes were also caught speeding and booked under the Motor Vehicles Act.

"We caught him along with some other (motorists) during the special drive for different violations," news agency PTRI quoted Banjara Hills Traffic Police Station Inspector N Vidya Sagar as saying.

A case was filed on charge of rash driving against Karthik Chowdary, he added.
