12 Juveniles Escape From Home After Beating Up Guard In Hyderabad

The police has formed special teams to arrest the escaped juveniles.

Hyderabad: At least 12 inmates have escaped from a juvenile home after beating up the security guard at Khushinagar in Bandlaguda.

The incident took place at around 12 am on November 24. The Roses Juvenile Home security guard, Lakshmaiah, was taken by surprise when the 12 juveniles attacked him. "They pushed me, snatched the keys from my hand and ran away," the 50-year-old guard said.

The security guard of the juvenile care centre sustained minor injuries in the incident.

Three hours after trying to search for the escaped juveniles, Lakshmaiah filed the complaint at the L B Nagar police station.

The police have filed a case against the juveniles under sections 224 and 324 of the IPC and formed special teams to arrest them. "All 12 juveniles, who are all less than 17 years old, have been booked for various cases. We hope to find them soon and produce them before the Juvenile Justice Board."

Child rights activists in Hyderabad allege that juveniles were probably ill-treated at the centre and that is why they escaped.
