With dead pub-owner in boot, they drove to Rajasthan

Gurgaon: Police on Thursday arrested two people for killing a pub owner and two Rajasthan policemen a fortnight ago.

Amit Jangir, 25, and Ajay Sangwan, 26, were charged with gunning down Pawan Sharma, who owned the Gurgaon pub where they were employed, in a car a day after Christmas.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Maheshwar Dayal said Sharma was shot twice near Dadri Toe village in Jhajjar district with a pistol issued in the name of the victim.

Police said they killed their employer "because he allegedly misbehaved with them" once.

"They dumped the body in the boot of the car and drove to Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district, driving aimlessly while drinking liquor," the officer said.

They parked the car near a village to sleep. Earlier on December 27, four Rajasthan policemen asked them to get into a police van.

Near a gas station, Jangir opened fire killing two policemen while a third constable fled. Police said the killers returned to Delhi the next day but kept changing their hideouts.

The accused had criminal records but the pub owner trusted them -- as they were from his area.

"They may be involved in other cases also," said another officer.
