Gurgaon: 40-year-old woman murdered at home

Gurgaon: A 40-year-old woman was killed by two unknown assailants who entered her house in Gurgaon and held her domestic help hostage, police said on Thursday.

The victim, Nargis Juneja, lived in DLF Phase II, and used to run a children's playschool in Gurgaon. The murder took place on Wednesday night when two unidentified men entered the house.

"Two men held her maid hostage and slit Nargis's throat," a senior police officer said.

"We are investigating the case. The accused will be behind bars very soon," Gurgaon Police Commissioner SS Deswal said.

Police said Nargis' husband Rakesh Juneja, a garment factory owner, was also a suspect in the murder. According to police sources, Rakesh was allegedly having an affair with someone in his factory.

"They (Rakesh and Nargis) used to fight over the issue a lot. We are exploring this angle also," the officer added.

The couple has two children.

Police has ruled out robbery as a motive as the attackers did not touch any item in the house.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination and the report is awaited, the official said.
