Gangster, aides held in Gurgaon after firing

Gurgaon: A notorious inter-state gangster, carrying a reward of Rs.1 lakh on his arrest, and his three associates were arrested in Gurgaon on Sunday after brief firing, police said. Three pistols and 39 live cartridges were seized.

Virendra Nehra alias Fauji, 33, a resident of Nidana village in Rohtak district who was involved in over a dozen cases like murder, and his associates were arrested near Dhankot village early morning.

"On a tip off, the accused were tracked while they were travelling in a vehicle. They fired at the police party but we managed to arrest them, none was injured," crime branch inspector Sanjeev Balhara told IANS.

Those arrested included Sandeep alias Dhillu, 32, a resident of Jasaur Kheri in Jhajjar district, Sanjay alias Kaira, 34, of village Dobh in Rohtak district, and Aashish alias Chottu, 19, of Indira Colony in Rohtak town, police said.

The accused men were presented before Duty Magistrate Ashok Mann who sent Virendra and Sandeep to a day's police remand. Sanjay and Aashish were sent to judicial custody for 14 days, police said.
