Engineer Allegedly Commits Suicide In Gurgaon

Gurgaon: A 23-year-old engineer employed with a private firm in Gurgaon committed suicide due to depression, police said on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Ravi Verma, who hailed from Khubru village near Ganaur in Haryana's Sonipat district. He was working with a private firm in Sector-3 of Manesar's Industrial Model Township (IMT).

According to police, Ravi, who was living in a rented flat in IMT's sector-1, returned from his office on Friday evening while his roommate went to work in the night shift.

"Ravi's roommate on Saturday returned from his work and found the main door locked from inside. Later, the door was broken and deceased found hanging from a ceiling fan," investigating officer Vijaypal told IANS.

The officer said the deceased has left a suicide note, saying, "I love you Maa, I am in depression, I am going."

He was the son of Rajender Verma Khubru, a well known cartoonist of Haryana who works with a national Hindi daily.

The body was handed over to family members after post-mortem.
