Gurgaon:
A nine-year-old British girl was allegedly molested and sexually harassed by her driver, police said today.
29-year-old driver Umesh, a resident of Laxman Vihar phase 2, was arrested yesterday after the mother of the victim, working in a school, filed a complaint against him, police said.
"The accused was working as a private driver at the victim's house for almost a year," assistant commissioner of police Rajiv Yadav, told IANS.
The family has alleged that the accused often molested the girl while dropping her at school in Delhi and bringing her back home, said police.
"The accused was presented before a court on Thursday and was sent to judicial custody for 14 days," he added.
On the complaint of the victim's mother, police had lodged a First Information Report (FIR) booking the accused under penal provisions and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act.
