Five arrested for Rs one crore silver heist in Ghaziabad factory

Ghaziabad: Nearly a week after silver worth Rs one crore was looted from a chemical factory at UPSIDC Industrial area in Masuri by 15 robbers at gunpoint, police on Thursday arrested four members of the gang.

"We have arrested four accused after a shootout between police and the robbers in forest area of Masuri area," police said, adding the other members of the gang will also be nabbed soon.

The arrested have been identified as Pradeep Saini, Saleem Javed, Riyaz and Robin, all aged between 25 and 32 years.
On the night of July 26, around 15 persons scaled the factory's wall after holding security guards hostage at
gun-point looted the silver worth Rs one crore, police said.

The factory was using silver in their products.
Police said they are interrogating the arrested accused to get further leads about their accomplices involved in the heist.
