88 New PCR Vans, 110 Motorcycles for Ghaziabad Police

Ghaziabad: With an aim to make the Ghaziabad Police more equipped to deal with criminals in the district, several new police control room (PCR) vans and motorcycles were flagged off in Ghaziabad on Friday.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dharmendra Singh Yadav flagged off 88 PCR vans and 110 'leopard motorcycles' at the Harsaav Police Lines.

The SSP said well-equipped squads will be posted in the new PCR vans to keep extra vigil on criminal activities in the district.

Boosting up the morale of the police force, the SSP said "You are more equipped than the criminals and anti-social elements, and now you have to prove your mettle, so that they are either nabbed or forced to leave the district."

The SSP said that a high-tech control room at the 47th Battalion of PAC at Govind Puram is near completion and will start working after its inauguration by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav soon.

More than 150 CCTV cameras will be installed in Ghaziabad city to keep a watch on the criminals' movements 24x7, he said.

Dharmendra Singh Yadav said the number of phone lines in the police control room for calling '100' has been increased to 15 from the present six.

More and more people will now get simultaneous connectivity and response from police, he said.

Each and every distress call will be attended to and the problem will be quickly conveyed to the police station concerned within the shortest possible time, he added.
