Puducherry: AIADMK on Sunday filed a complaint with the DistrictElection Officer, seeking action against those who installed a plaque on thepremises of a temple near Puducherry carrying the names of some ministers, in a"clear case of violation" of model code of conduct.
AIADMK Puducherry unit secretary and MLA A Anbalagan, whofiled the complaint, said the temple's trustee objected to the erection of theplaque with the names of the Chief Minister and Electricity and Welfare Ministersin the premises.
A group of people allegedly owing allegiance to theMinisters attacked the trustee for his objection to the installation of theplaque, he said in a release.
The trustee, the secretary of the Bahoor unit of the AIADMK,had complained to the police and sought action against those who assaulted him.
Demandingaction against the assailants, Anbalagan requested the DEO to order removal ofthe plaque as it had been erected with names of Ministers in violation of themodel code of conduct in force for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
