Daughter of former Union Minister Dinesh Singh, a member of the Kalakankar royal family, Mrs Singh faces a tough challenge from Harivansh Singh of the Apna Dal and Pramod Patel of the Samajwadi Party. The BJP has allotted the Pratapgarh seat to the Apna Dal as part of a seat-sharing pact. Mrs Singh, who has been fielded by the Congress, is seeking a fourth term in the Lok Sabha.
