"Child's play?" Sonia's remark was about Rahul, not me, quips Kejriwal

'Child's play?' Sonia's remark was about Rahul, not me, quips Kejriwal
New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal  today said that recent remarks by  Congress President Sonia Gandhi  about governance not being "child's play" have been misunderstood as a jab at him.  "She should not have said this about her son," Mr Kejriwal quipped. "He may look like a child, but he is 43 after all.  Her criticism was not of me."

For the national election, the Congress campaign is being led by Mrs Gandhi's son, Rahul, who is the second-most senior leader in the party after her. (Full coverage: India Votes 2014)

Mr  Kejriwal spent this morning campaigning in the crowded streets of Chandi Chowk in Delhi, where his candidate, former journalist Ashutosh, is running against BJP veteran Harsh Vardhana and union minister Kapil Sibal.

In the December state election in Delhi, Mr Kejriwal led his Aam Aadmi Party, then barely a year old, to an off-the-charts electoral debut, winning enough seats to form the government.  He quit as Chief Minister after 49 days, a decision censured by his opponents as a reflection of both his inexperience and his intent to serve as a chronic disruptor rather than a political performer.

Mr Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party disfigured the Congress in the Delhi election, relegating the party which had governed Delhi for over 10 years to a humiliating third place.
