The application process for Kishor Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Aptitude Test has begun. The application is open to Indian Nationals, however as per the Interim Order (Final Order awaited)of the Honorable High Court of Karnataka OCI/PIO students will be allowed to write the KVPY Aptitude Test 2017.

KVPY 2017: Online Application Process Begins; Last Date August 23

New Delhi: The application process for Kishor Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Aptitude Test has begun. The application is open to Indian Nationals, however as per the Interim Order (Final Order awaited)of the Honorable High Court of Karnataka OCI/PIO students will be allowed to write the KVPY Aptitude Test 2017. The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is an on-going National Program of Fellowship in Basic Sciences, initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, to identify and provide scholarship to deserving students for pursuing basic science courses and research career in science.

The application process for KVPY Aptitude Test began on July 16. The last date to apply for the test is August 23, 2017. The exam will be conducted across 54 cities in the country on November 5, 2017. 

Eligibility for KVPY 2017

Stream SA: Students enrolled in XI Standard (Science Subjects) during the academic year 2017-18 and having secured a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Science subjects in the X Standard Board examination. 

Stream SX: Students enrolled in XII Standard/ (+2) (Science subjects) during the academic year 2017-18 and have secured a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Science subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in the X Standard Board Examination.

Stream SB: Students enrolled in the 1st year of undergraduate program in Basic Sciences namely Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics & Biology leading to B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S. during the academic year 2017-18 and having secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Science subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology)  in the XII Standard Board Examination. 

Fellowship

For all three streams, during 1st to 3rd years of B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math. / Integrated M.Sc. /M.S., there will be a monthly grant of Rs. 5000 and an annual contingency grant of Rs. 20000.  During  M. Sc.  or 4th to 5th  years of Integrated M.Sc. /M.S./M.Math./M.Stat., there will be a monthly grant of Rs. 7000 and an annual contingency grant of Rs. 28000.
