New Delhi:
An 18-year-old boy was arrested in the capital for allegedly raping a six-month-old child, police said on Friday. The child has been admitted to a hospital.
Sonu, the boy, allegedly took the girl child with him on the pretext of nestling her and raped her on Thursday, a senior police official said.
"The child's mother took her to visit her parents in Bharat Nagar area in north Delhi on Thursday. Sonu, a neighbour, came and asked for the child and while nestling her suddenly took her outside.
"After half-and-hour he came quietly and left the child on the floor in front of everyone and fled," said the official.
Her mother noticed the child was bleeding and rushed her to Bara Hindu Rao Hospital where medical report confirmed rape, the official added.
"The child is still undergoing treatment," said the official.
In another incident, a 43-year old man was arrested for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl here, police said.
"The victim was playing outside her house in K.N. Katju area in north Delhi when her mother, a maid, left for work on Friday afternoon," said a police officer.
Police said that Anant Kumar, a driver, took the girl to his car where he raped her.
