Chandigarh:

Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki today said that for ensuring better transportation and mobility in the national capital region (NCR), Metro lines covering about 28 kilometer are under construction in the state.

"The Metro link between Delhi and YMCA chowk, Faridabad is likely to become operational by June 2015 while Bahadurgarh is likely to be connected with Delhi by April 2016. The work for extension of Metro link from YMCA Chowk to Ballabgarh has been alloted," Solanki informed the State Assembly on the opening day of the Budget Session in Chandigarh.

The government has taken up with the Centre the issues of finalising the revised Detailed Project Report for the Metro link between Sector 21-Dwarka and IFFCO Chowk, Gurgaon and finalisation of the feasibility report of the Metro line from Narela to Kundli, he told the House.

"The Government of India was also requested to provide a spur to the proposed Metro line between Qutub Minar and Badarpur stations, to pass through the inhabited areas of northern Faridabad starting from Surajkund and connect to an appropriate Metro station located on Delhi-Faridabad route," he said.
