The accused was arrested on August 31 for raping and burning the minor with cigarette butts.
A 25-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping and brutalising a three-year-old girl in Govindpuri of south-east Delhi, police said.
The arrest was made based on the complaint by the hospital where she was admitted after the staff suspected signs of sexual assault. However, medical report is not clear.
The accused, who was previously nabbed in a molestation case, was arrested on August 31 for raping and burning the minor with cigarette butts at many parts of her body besides hitting her head against a wall, a police officer said. The accused, aged 25, was arrested on the same day under sections of POCSO.
The accused's wife has also been arrested for covering up the crime and suppressing facts of the incident. She was arrested under section 16 of the POCSO Act.
Police said that enquiry has revealed that the accused was previously arrested in Mehrauli for sexually assaulting another child.
The victim was still under trauma and was horrified by nightmares of the incident.
