New Delhi: A man from Uttar Pradesh was today arrested at a Delhi Metro station for allegedly carrying three live bullets in his bag.

The incident was reported at Laxmi Nagar Metro station at 12:40 pm when the person, identified as Gaurav Pandey, was intercepted by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel for carrying three live rounds of 8 mm calibre gun in his bag.

"Pandey, a resident of Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh, was stopped from entering the metro and was handed over to Delhi Police for further investigation," officials said.

On Tuesday, a man was apprehended for smuggling in a liquor bottle through the non-frisking area of the metro.

"When the man, a resident of Chandni chowk, was denied entry by CISF for carrying a liquor bottle with himself, he tried to whisk it through the unmanned area of the station. He was caught in the act and the station controller later fined him Rs 200 under provisions of the Delhi Metro Rail Act and was denied further entry," officials said.
