Gangster-turned-property dealer arrested for murdering colleague

New Delhi: An inter-state gangster-turned-property dealer, wanted in a murder case of his colleague, has been arrested, police said on Tuesday.

Acting on specific information, police arrested Vinod alias Vickey from his house in Dwarka and recovered a country-made pistol along with three live cartridges," DCP (Crime and Railways) Ashok Chand said.

During interrogation, Vickey confessed that he had killed property dealer Balwan Solanki alias Palle after a property dispute.

Both, Palle and Vickey had claimed a piece of gram sabha land in Palam village. Subsequently, Vickey in association with another gangster of Palam village, Binder Pahalwan, took possession of the land and divided the land equally between them and deprived Palle of possession of this land.

Palle became enraged and assaulted Vickey and his brother Pramod. He had started pressurising Vickey for an out of court settlement, the officer said.

On the night of September 6, Vickey along with his brothers Manoj and Pramod entered into a scuffle with Palle.

Vickey took out his pistol and shot Palle dead, the DCP said.

Besides this, Vickey along with his brother Pramod had earlier abducted a builder from a construction site at H-Block, Dwarka, and demanded Rs 5 lakh from him, Chand said.
