Delhi-ites woke up to a foggy morning today with poor visibility. At least 101 trains were delayed and 11 cancelled due to the dense fog in parts of north India, railway officials said.

According to a MeT Department official, visibility was recorded at 400 metres at 5.30 am at Safdarjung which dropped to 100 metres at 8 pm to consequently settle at 300 metres at 8.30 am.
Visibility at Palam was recorded at 400 metres at 5.30 am which dropped to 200 metres at 8 pm and then settled at 250 metres at 8.30 am, the official added.
A senior railway official said as many as 101 trains were running late by 5-12 hours, 18 were rescheduled due to the fog and 17 were cancelled.
Most of the flights were arriving and departing on time, according to the Delhi airport website.
The humidity was recorded at 95 per cent.
The weatherman has predicted mainly clear skies for the day with the maximum and minimum temperature expected to settle at 27 and 12 degrees Celsius with dense to very dense fog expected tomorrow.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature settled at 26.6 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal, while the minimum temperature was pegged at 7.7 degrees, a notch below the season's average.
