Delhi University welcomes its new students, switches to semester system
New Delhi: Delhi University is to welcome its young students for a new session in which the institution would switch over to a semester mode in all courses.

The University which this year came out with two additional cut-off lists exclusively for OBC candidates, however, still has a few seats vacant in various colleges.

The authorities had asked the colleges not to go ahead with transferring reserved seats to general category students until further notice. In the absence of a fresh directive, therefore, the university will start its session today with the freeze on conversion of the vacant seats.

The university is finally shifting to a complete semester mode from this year after a prolonged stand-off between the administration and teachers over the issue that led to a delay in revision of syllabi from annual to semester mode.
