Delhi University Student From Assam Killed In Road Mishap

The youth, identified as Prinayan Baruah, was a BA second-year student in Ramjas College, police said.

New Delhi: A 20-year-old Delhi University student, hailing from Assam, died as his motorbike crashed on the pavement in northwest Delhi's Vijay Nagar area, police said on Thursday.

The youth, identified as Prinayan Baruah, was a BA second-year student in Ramjas College, police said.

The incident took place last night when Baruah was heading towards a friend's home. He lost control of his motorbike near Vijay Nagar and hit the pavement.

A passerby informed police and Baruah was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.

No helmet was recovered from the spot and police have registered a case of rash driving and negligence causing death in connection with the incident at Mukherjee Nagar police station.

Baruah lived at a rented room in Old Gupta Colony area. His parents have been informed about the incident, police said.
