Delhi to Get Public Toilets at 80 Places
New Delhi: Public toilets will be set up at 80 places here as part of the Clean India campaign, an official said on Thursday.

The decision was taken at a meeting on Wednesday that Urban Development secretary Madhusudan Prasad held with top officials of the Delhi government.

The toilets will be based on the 'Namma' model suggested by former president late A.P.J. Abdul Kalam when he was the Principal Scientific Advisor to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 1998, an official statement here said.

The 'Namma' model was also appreciated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an exhibition during the launch of three new urban missions last month.

The expenditure will be supported by the National Buildings Construction Corporation.
