Delhi Police spread thin between Janmashtmi and Anna's fast
New Delhi: Delhi Police are making all the security arrangements for Janmashtami on Sunday and keeping their fingers crossed that all goes well, especially in view of Anna Hazare's fast at the Ramlila Maidan that is being attended by thousands of the social activist's supporters.

Janmashtami - the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna - will be celebrated Sunday evening.

"Delhi Police have a strength of 70,000-80,000 personnel which is sufficient to tackle any law and order problem. If need be paramilitary forces and Central Reserve Police Force are always at our disposal," Joint Commissioner of Police Sudhir Yadav told IANS.

Speaking of the fast, he said: "Till Thursday the police faced difficulty as the protesters were scattered across the capital but today the situation seems to be under control as the people are gathering only at Ramlila Maidan. We hope the situation doesn't go out of control on the eve of Janmashtami," said Yadav.
