New Delhi: After a big row led to scrapping of a 5-bedroom duplex apartment for him, a fresh search for a new house for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is expected to begin on Saturday.

The Secretary of the Ministry of Urban Development Sudhir Krishna met Mr Kejriwal on Friday to discuss the issue of an official accommodation for the Chief Minister.

According to sources, Mr Kejriwal asked Mr Krishna to look for a small accommodation for him and a fresh search for the Chief Minister's house in the New Delhi area will begin on Saturday.

Following a controversy over the allotment of two adjacent five-bedroom duplex flats to him, Mr Kejriwal had refused to move into the accommodation on Bhagwan Dass Road in Mandi House.

"My house in Kaushambi is a four-bedroom apartment and it's just a five-bedroom flat and a controversy has been created around it. My friends and even supporters have been calling me, saying I should not move into the five-bedroom flat. So, I have decided not to opt for it," Mr Kejriwal had said.

The Chief Minister has so far been working from his Ghaziabad residence.
