Former IPS Officer and newly inducted Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member Kiran Bedi speaks exclusively to NDTV's Barkha Dutt ahead of the Delhi Assembly polls scheduled on February 7.
Here are the highlights of her discussion:- It's a mystery when and how my thought changed and I decided to join politics.
- It's for the love of the country that I decided to give it all I have.
- Comfort level is important in deciding which party to join: Kiran Bedi on choosing BJP and not the Aam Aadmi Party.
- I go with positive energy, Prime Minister Modi has 100 per cent.
- For me 'sundar' (beautiful) means 'saksham' (competent): Kiran Bedi on her earlier comment - BJP Has 'World's Most Beautiful Face'.
- Is there a doubt that PM Modi is competent?
- For me it's 'India first', and 'Delhi first' has to be along with 'India First'.
- If i lead the Delhi campaign, then i will be 1 of 29; so isn't it like stars around a Sun?
- I have been studying PM Modi's leadership qualities and the work of his cabinet.
- The atmosphere is positive and inspirational; The government hasn't belied our trust.
- I had a great meeting with booth workers. BJP is an amazingly organised party.
- The common man has been asking me - why don't you join politics?
- Reports of discontent within the Delhi BJP are exaggerated.
- 6 P's will work as one fist for women's security, government will be the hub.
- Coordinated, collaborative functioning of the Delhi Police is possible if there is agreement between the chief minister and lieutenant-governor's offices.
- Need a 24-hour grievance redressal system in Delhi.
- Will bring back the civil defence system in Delhi.
- Corruption isn't low on my priority, asked the PM when will we get a Lokpal. PM and his cabinet are already working on it.
- Congress swipes on me will boomerang on them and they'll pay a heavy price for it.
- Did 'ghungat' act as I was angry with the government for Anna's plight.
- What I do today is my tomorrow. I live in 'here and now'.
- Not upset that Anna hasn't taken my calls, he doesn't know why I'm doing this.
- I will meet Anna after the campaign.
- I don't feel like an outsider in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
- BJP believes in reaching out to the last person.
- Politics is about being positive. I will tell the people what I stand for.
- I will run a positive campaign.
- For me elections are not a fight, it is a matter of choice.
- Delhi needs a school of political governance. I am giving all I can for my Delhi.

- (On chief ministership) All I know is what I have to do right now, not calculating anything. I'm giving it all.
