Admission Process to Delhi University Colleges to be Uniform

New Delhi: Colleges of University of Delhi will not impose any extra eligibility criteria on students seeking admission to the four year undergraduate programme from this year, making the process across all the colleges uniform.

"A student applying in five different colleges will have the same criteria for admission in all of them. Colleges will not be allowed to impose any extra-eligibility criteria for students. Rules will be the same for all and as set by the university," Delhi University's media coordinator Malay Neerav said today.

"Till last year, students used to be in a dilemma whether his/her aggregate marks will be enough to get admission as colleges used to impose additional riders such as above 85 per cent in mathematics required for admission."

"But from now on this practice will be stopped. This will simplify the admission process, he added.

This rule, however, will not be applicable to minority colleges such as St Stephen's and Jesus and Mary College which will come out with their own cut off list.

Over 70 colleges are affiliated to University of Delhi.
