4 Killed in Car-Truck Collision in Raipur
Raipur: Four people were killed today when after their car collided head-on with a truck on NH-30 in Chhattisgarh's Kondagaon district, police said.

The incident took place this morning near Keshkal in Farasgaon police station area of the district when the car was heading towards Jagdalpur from Raipur, SHO Farasgaon police station TR Sahu said.

Three of the deceased were identified as Vijeet Pandey, Dinesh Pandey and Ganesh Thakur, all aged between 25-30 years, Mr Sahu said.

As per the preliminary probe, the victims belonged to Bemetara district and were going to Jagdalpur.

When their vehicle reached between Bahigaon and Musukokoda villages it rammed the truck coming from the opposite direction, the SHO said.

The impact of the collision was so severe that the car got tangled into a mass under the truck and the vehicle had to be axed open to take out the bodies, he said.

The family members of the victims have been informed and their bodies have been sent for post-mortem, he said.

A case has been registered in this connection, the SHO said adding that efforts are on to trace the truck driver who escaped from the spot after the mishap.
