New Delhi:
An 18-year-old boy was held for trying to rape a minor girl in New Delhi, police said on Saturday.
"Kaliya Kumar was trying to rape his relative at her house in Welcome Colony area in east Delhi on Saturday afternoon," said a police officer.
Police said neighbours came to the girl's rescue after hearing her screams.
Saifuddin, an eyewitness, told IANS, "A woman heard her scream and informed us. We entered the house and rescued the girl."
The accused was beaten by locals and handed over to police.
