In the past 14 matches only 2 Indians managed to get the man-of-the-match awards and only the Aussies and Kiwis are making their presence felt. If the same continues, chances are Indian cricket will end up like English or Spanish football, where they have the strongest football leagues in the world but not a strong national side. Should we bring down the number of foreign nationals in the team to 2 to 3 which will give more chance to the local players. Now only once in a blue moon we are able to find a local boy shining. Presence of foreign players do glamorize the game but the ultimate value of having a domestic tournament loses its shine when only a known bunch of 25 to 30 Indian crickets come to the limelight. What Lalit Modi can do is to have a tier-2 level of a tournament where another 10 city teams full of local talent will fight it out for place in the top 8 franchises.
