Azher , Hyderabad :

US is equally dependent on India, as India on US, as far as overall economics are concerned. US has found India as a good country for their services not only because of the cheap labor as generally thought. If this would have been the only criteria, there are many countries where labor is much cheaper than that of ours. I feel that the more important key here is the skill set and competency levels which US gets at the easily affordable cost it spends in Indian companies. Its not that US is doing big favor to India. Instead it is a mutually beneficial business rather.

R Sridhar , Chennai :

It is a good awareness on global crises based on failure of prime banking sectors on recent days. Past is past thinking furure is good for all by using "WEIGHTED AVERAGE REALISATION METHOD" on commercial proceedings which will avoid recession by means of pre-positions on exact status.

Janaki , Chennai/Brisbane :

There is no need to panic, need not be nervous,in the outcome of U.S.elections.It is an eye opener for India.India is basically an agricultural country trying to establish itself in other fields and outsourcing is just one of them.In the event of having signed the nuclear deal,we could use it to develop the country in all spheres. Most importantly we have skilled manpower in all fields like Engineeering [all branches],Science,Medicine,Law,Administration, etc.
It is high time we make use of this skilled manpower both in home country and abroad in a fruitful manner. To implement this we only need a proper structure in our political system which can be done by active participation of educated people of this country. We need awareness, participation and hard work right from the grass root level. We have to start from villages improving the infra structure and extend it to cities. When a country like China can do it why not we?None other than us can materialise this.

Archit Rastogi , Noida :

I pray to God that the policies of Obama should be in favour of India.India has a lot of TALANT but the thing is they want the opportunity to perform the skills.Which US provides them.

Nothing is lost.Everything can be gained,if a little awareness, forethought, planning, hardwork and participation are there.Do we ever do any community work?Have we ever visited our villages? There should be participation of educated youth at the grass root level. We should concentrate more on Agriculture, horticulture, sericulture, farming, poultry, fishing, small scale industries, road laying, ruralwork, desilting, strenthening ofbunds, removing encroachments,afforestation,erc.,etc.Do we concentrate on villages? However westernised the European countries may be,there is no negligence of such work there.Lush green fields and meadows bloom in the country side along with tapering buildings in the cities. They learn to live, work, benifit and enjoy with nature. In a densely populated country like India, there is scope for work in rural areas.Producing umpty number of computer engineers alone does not pave way for the prosperity of a country.Celebrating Gandhi Jayanthi without learning and following of his principles of concentrating on villages is futile. There is lot to learn, lot to do.

Varun A , Hyderabad/NYC :

As I watched the US create history - I couldnt help but envy this country. For the past 8 years - there was a bittersweet joy in mocking the Bush administration and their colloquial / isolated Americana perspective. But for about 2 years now - Ive seen such an unimaginable amount of participation of the US citizenry. As an Indian - I have to admit - I felt alone. Americans, especially African-Americans today feel how we must have felt in 1947. "At the stroke of the midnight hour - when the world speaks, India will rise to Freedom" - Yesterday, at the eleventh hour, the country that put a man on the moon put a "brother in the house". Its a significant victory for democracy yes - I always thought that India had a raw, real perspective of democracy - that the conventional rules of governing a billion people of infinite diversity would be impossible. America did it in 2 years, a country that had a 44% voter turnout 4 years back now has 63% of its voters participating in the democratic system. India symbolizes massive freedom on one hand but is complemented with massive APATHY. As I see my fellow countrymen partying in the clubs of NYC - spawning children in this nation, I cannot help but crave for a similar sense of belonging and involvement in my own country's governance. My countrymen do get up at the stroke of the midnight hour - to freedom?, I think not but rather to serve the consumers of America. We serve these people and unless we learn from the pride the American people have today - we are destined to provide a call-support role for global democracy and freedom.

In the words of Henry V. Derozio, I try and remember my country's glorious past, a past now inert without any pride, only substituted by an obeisance to the American values.

My Country! In the days of Glory Past

A beauteous halo circled round thy brow
And worshipped as deity thou wast,
Where is that Glory, where is that reverence now?

Ramesh Krishnan Murthy , Cochin :

Thinks American has just did their job which the world wanted. Congrats Mr. Barack & wish you all the very best.

Abhijit Roy , Bangalore :

Creating jobs at home will have to be Obama's priority number one. This might be a good opportuity for Indian IT service providers to set up units in the US as a nearshore option. India's huge success has been built on the offshore model, now perhaps is the time for industry to show that they are mature enough to turn new challenges into opportunities. The US will remain as a powerful global growth engine for some more time to come. China will have to rely more on domestic demand. The Indian home market is also getting very attractive for business to explore.

Viswanatha Mani Shankar , Chennai :

There would be an opportunity for India and US to work together in future. India is an important partner in the International arena. US will play as a Leader role ot other developing country

Gyanender Kumar , New Delhi India :

congratulation to BARACK OBAMA for elected presedent for second largest Democratic country
