Salman released from Jodhpur Jail
Randeep Singh Nandal
Friday, August 31, 2007, (Jodhpur)
Salman Khan has been released on bail from Jodhpur jail and has reached his residence in Mumbai where a huge group of his fans awaited his arrival.
Earlier in the day the Rajasthan High Court granted bail to the actor in chinkara poaching case.
The court on Thursday decided to hear his appeal only after going through the records of the case.
Salman had been in Jodhpur Central Jail since August 25, after his five-year jail sentence in the Chinkara poaching case, was upheld by a lower court in Jodhpur.
The court ordered his release on a security of Rs 1 lakh and a bond of Rs 50,000.
The next date of hearing the revision petition has been fixed for October 24.
Meanwhile, the actor's family had gathered outside court waiting for his bail application to be heard. He was whisked away almost immediately.

I think Salman suffered in this case because of being a high focused celebrity and communal feeling as well.

This is the benefit of being a celebraity. You can get the bail easily. Had it been a common man it would have taken longer time.

Its sad to see a mockery of the justice system - especially on national TV. Trying to get one proper news broadcast is almost impossible on any of the Indian so called "news channels". Ones best bet is to tune into Jazira English for a straighforward news as news broadcast. A channel like NDTV seems to be obsessed with airing the same footage of famous criminals while real stories ae all but forgotten.
