Terrorists may have succeeded in killing many innocent people in Hyderabad and their intension was perhaps to also trigger communal violence in the city. But the people of Hyderabad have foiled their plan not once but twice.

As the effect of the anesthesia begins to wear off, Rahim lies semi-conscious after a surgery on his left eye.

Though in acute pain, Rahim is enquiring about Ram, the man who he rushed to hospital soon after the blast on Saturday. Doctors say the 50-year-old painter is out of danger but he has lost his left eye.

Thirty two-year-old Ram was at Gokul Chat shop buying a snack for his wife back home who is six months pregnant. He is now critical, metallic balls have damaged his brain matter.

Doctors say there are two more nails in his brain, but that cannot be removed until Ram shows improvement.

"He is friendly to everybody and calls everybody bhai no matter which religion they belong to. It was a rainy day so I had warned him from going out anywhere," said A Ravinder, Ram's father.

Ram and Rahim do not know each other but their families are praying for the speedy recovery of both.

Hyderabad has been put to difficult test twice in the last two months when terror attacked the city not once but two times, killing nearly 60 people altogether and injuring at least 150.

But both times, the people of Hyderabad have stood up as one, and fought back together, against terror.

The names of the victim itself signifies a touch of unity among 2 people from different diversities. It is a good lash to the bombers indeed!
