Thursday, April,26 2007 (Pune):

Noted Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib once said only a donkey can say no to a mango and what if someone offers you lunch or dinner all made up of mango... sounds yummy.

So, here's a treat for all the mango lovers. A restaurant in Pune offers a meal only of mangoes from starters to of course the dessert.

The eatery has a special menu for the summer with the message that fruit can also be food.

"We know no one says no to mangoes it's easy to make sweets or ice creams out of mangoes but our European kitchen team took two months to research on this menu," said Anand Rangari, Executive Chef, Deccan Rendezvous.

There's still some time left before mangoes storm the market but this restaurant has made an early start to the season.

Their special menu starts with the mango soup. It includes iced mango soup with ginger, vegetarian and non-vegetarian mango dishes.

Then we have mango combined with fish or marinated prawns with tossed lettuce and curried mango sauce or just fresh mango with chocolate brownie.

Thanks to their versatile combinations, the mango is not just the king of fruit in this restaurant but also the king of food.
