I was in the Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve a few weeks ago, and enjoyed seeing a family of incredibly beautiful tigers. One was sitting on a rocky slope above Padam Talao, as the moon rose over the lake, and the frogs sang. It was magical. Please keep the Sanctuary/NDTV tiger signature campaign going until it reaches one million signatures!

It was a fine morning of Nov. 2001, that Paresh, Amit and myself left for Kanha National Park.During the second day of safari we spotted tigers in 2 different position and places. In the morning we saw 3 tigers, guarding their hunts, from the back of the elefants. It was really amazing to see that the king of the jungle was not buzzing in the presence of the elephants. In the same afternoon we spotted tiger roaming around. What a scene it was! We could not belive that it was the same creature which is fenced, starved & mocked by humans in zoo.The difference was phenomenal, its color, size and above all the way its walk. In cities, One might see a tiger in cage but not the king.the king lives in jungle only.

its was the most wild and beautiful experience in my life.the date was 5th january 2008 when we had been on a safari at karmajhari tiger reserve -pench project.after about 3 hrs of searching we located few pug marks, which we traced. there were other jeeps waiting at a particular spot, claiming the sight of the majestic beast. i tried to locate but the tiger was too far away, sitting behing tall grass. i could just see the tip of the ear moving when the tiger was shaking the head. all of suddden it just sprang up and started charging towards us .we were spell bound, numb and awe struck admiring the lovely animal.little we realised that we might be in danger. just when it was about 5-6 feet from us it steered away to our right and then we saw a small jackal ahead of it which it had been chasing . it was a life time experience and truly an enchanting encounter.

i saw my first tiger rather tigress in bandhavgarh in april 2000, she was mohini . she was the most beautiful tigress i have seen and a fantastic mother too. she raised many litters in bandhavgarh some of whom now populate the forest. i have seen tigers in the wild many times but it is as thrilling as the first glimpse. i hope we can see these majestic creatures for a long time. lack of political will deprive the coming generations of experiencing the thrill of seeing this great animal in the wild.

what is the point of all these signatures??????.....can these signatures save the tigers???!!!!! tigers need more security .... and if i may suggest, can you think of tracking them by implanting electronic bugs and any other high technology so that you can save them from the poachers???

First of all thanks NDTV and Sanctuary for this great initiative to save the tiger. Our first meeting was in the dead of night while it was about to pounce on a sambar deer at the foothills of Nilgiris in Bandipur-Mudumalai Forest range. The tiger was certainly not very pleased with this un-intentional intrusion just as it was about to get dinner and that growl breaking the silence of the forest and the fiery stripes disappearing in the thicket will be etched in my mind forever. We have met many more of this magnificent species across Ranthambore, Sariska, Bandhavgarh and Corbett. Our love was Challenger, who we filmed in Bandhavgarh. Unfortunately he is no more, possible victim of a failed poaching attempt. We have therefore decided to devote more time on conservation actively, not just by signatures and donations. Those of you who would like to read about Challenger the article is in Hindustan times Edit page 12) dated Feb 25

Hello, I was on a vacation with my family to Nagarholle forest, we are a regular visitors of the National park, and while our journey back my mother heard a roar but we are ridiculed her but after a while we saw something coming out of the bush i suddenly stopped my car to my surprise i saw the Tiger coming out of the bush we are dumb struck by looking at its size and suddenly we saw the mother of the cub also coming out we are all surprised my sister dropped the camera due to fear, the tiger started at us for 5 to 8 mins and it slowly slipped into the forest. It was a spine chilling experience i still continue to visit the park regularly.

I've been to Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary, and NO, I did not spot any tigers. Forget tigers, there was hardly ANY wildlife spotted during the 30 minutes drive through the forest. I really support the upgradation of forest guards to armed force aka Tiger Protection Force. I also, would request sponsorship of village / natives to ensure they do not look upon the forests as a treasure trove. Lets' do all we can to help save the forests & its' king-The Tiger.

I had been to a national park for the first time in my life. It was Jim Corbett national Park in beautiful hills of Uttaranchal. I was lucky enough to spot a tigress within 24 hours of my visit. It was truly breath taking to see it right in front of your eyes in its own abode and roaming freely without any fear.It was a great experience and I have pledged to lend my full support in whatever capacity I can to save the the dwindling population of tigers.

I have been very lucky in spotting tigers in the wild.My first experience started when i was 9 years old in 1991.I went to Dudua Natinal Forest along with my family. We spotted a tiger who was sitting majestically. We didn't take photograph but that first experience is still fresh in my mind. I then went to Panna national forest in 2005.The park had just 6 tigers across 1300 sq km area.I was lucky to spot one tigeress. She was basking in the sun.We had a good view of her for about 20 mins. This year in 2008 in feb, I went to the safest home of tigers, Corbett. There i spotted yet again a tigress.corbett is truly the best forest i have ever seen.It is just out of the box.One can hear numerous tiger calls. Now i am planning to visit Sunderbans. My love for watching tigers in the wild is ever growing.

We had been to Corbett National Park during the winter holidays. We spotted the Majestic tiger with two big cubs.We had waited about 45 min. to 1 hr for the tiger to come out fromthe bushes and it was worth the wait. We Had a enjoyable stay and hope to visit the place and other reserves inIndia in future.

I spotted the tiger, beautiful bright and scintillating animal....mostly lonesome though in Jim Corbett sanctuary. The whole jungle seemed to have developed a tiger sensitive intelligent early warning system with birds, monkeys and deers calling out as it approaches. It was also fascinating to see tiger claws on the trees. fearsome marks!

No I havn't spotted any tiger in wild. But I saw it in captivity. I am very depressed by the results of the tiger census. But after watching and participating in the ndtv campaign, I am feeling a hope of tiger's better future. I want to convey this message to all the Indians"SAVE THE TIGER BY JOINING THE NDTV CAMPAIGN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

No, I havent spotted a tiger in the wild. But I saw it in captivity. One thing I want to say "Tiger is our National animal" and, its each and every Indian's duty to protect Tiger and their habitat.

I was on a macchan near a water hole for 2 consecutive days in Corbett in summer 2004. We watched a beautiful tiger family cool it off in the water hole for atleast 45 mins. Time flew (Those 45 mins felt like a few seconds) and they were gone. Those 45 mins and 2 days were one of the most exciting, unforgettable and happy days of my life.

Yes, i have seen the TIGER! I had been to the Corbett National Park sometime back and the entire experience was thrilling and amazing. Chasing the paws we saw the glimpse of the TIGER and really missed a beat. Its an experience in itself to see this majestic animal and then there is a sense of realisation that he has to be saved from the massive killing and porching that is been taking place all over the nation. Guys, save the tigers!!! otherwise, our next genrations to come will never be able experience this side of wildlife and ll be able to just keep this experience to the books. Every tigher counts! Take a step forward and lets make a difference!
