Harsh Vardhan, after meeting Lt Governor:
- I was invited by the Lt Governor regarding talks on government formation.
- I just spoke to him.
- I have submitted a letter to him.
- BJP has got the maximum seats in Delhi elections. I want to thank and salute the people of Delhi for their love and blessings.
- We need 36 seats for majority. And we are 4 seats short.
- The BJP has always believed in transparency, honesty and clean politics.
- We have gotten the best mandate from the people of Delhi. They have punished the Congress for not working for them.
- I have thanked the Lt Governor for the invitation for talks.
- I told him since we don't have a majority, we will serve the people of Delhi, without forming the government. I told him that it would be better if we sit in opposition.
- I want to tell the people that whenever we get a full mandate, we will work towards making Delhi a true, world-class capital city, of which the whole country would feel proud.
- I have told the Lt Governor that we are not in a position to form the government.
- Horse-trading is not an option for me or my party. So we didn't have any other alternative.
- (On giving support to AAP) Whoever wants to form government, has to get a majority of its own. The Lt Governor has instructions from the President that whoever stakes claim has to prove their majority within seven days.
- Fully prepared for re-elections.
