Absolutely, provided such receipts are not frittered away. They are to be used as corpus and income out of the same can be used for meeting some special expenses, be it healthcare, education, or some such important expenses

Yes. Besides being a good source, it will enable the government to reinvest in different sectors that need nurturing and incubating nacent industries.Government by disinvesting in profitable sectors such as aviation and telecom would encourage entrepenurtial growth that will contribute the tax kitty. This will also free government human resources to focus on governance rather than on business for which the civil servants are ill equipped.

Perse disinvestment is not a bad word. In a social order state should attract more and more private investment in nation building sectors. This will not only allow the government to recover the investments made by it and reallocate such funds to other priority areas. Ultimately the investor who decides to take ir ot not.

NO! We must disinvest wholly only the loss making PSUs that too of commercial nature only. While mixed economy has been again proved to be best due to fall of Communist Socialism & Current US Style Crony Capitalist Recession and our only option is European Social Democracy with restriction of imports, ban on FIIs which are unstable and maximum 49% FDIs in commercial private sectors! Also, Govt must heavily invest in public healthcare, school education and infrastructure.
