They don't have to be necessarily obliged. But, if they do their duty of playing the game just in the spirit of sports with their own personal integrity, they don't have to yearn to be taken for role models. Taking them for role models is the choice of the public. If they are going to make themselves obliging, they will lose even the last thread of originality they have in them. So let them focus on doing their duty for the nation.

It is good if they can do so instead of concentrating on earnings through media ads and their sport.In the present day context, players with fat earnings made overnight are adopting lavish and ostentatious life styles which can never qualify them to be role models, however much they excel in their sport. Sports persons become public figures not by choice but because of their high visibility. As they enjoy tremendous influence on the society, any adverse or bad conduct will have a strong negative impact on the society. Due to this, it is their basic responsibility that tey conduct in a dignified manner as long as they are in the public domain.

Definitely, I can say some players of team India (Cricket) will be fit for this job. They are demi god for young generation.
