What Indian Railways required to look at are safety, maintenance, modernization, puncuality, cleanliness. The turnaround is more about financial health of railways. Now more attention should given on other factors including expansion, electrification and modernaization. We are way back in technology as compared to other developed countries. Look at the railways being run in Japan,France and even China. We need to look far ahead of time.So far so good but do not rest till further achievements are made.

Lalu is a successful Railway minister and in his tenure definitely there is a lot of improvement in the railroad network with no rise in passenger fares.Another aspect of appreciation is that today more and more of people are using the Indian Railways and its efficient administration under the able leadership of Lalu Railways are seeing much profits.

While untidy compartments without water and electricity, sub standard food served in the platform and compartments are the lot of the commuters, surplus amount should be utilised for giving better amenities to the passengers.

The huge surplus is not shared equitably among the railway passengers in terms of safety.

The maintenance of the railway tracks all over India need to be looked at the earliest. Not only the first class trains but also the regular trains need to be free of dirt, clean and hygenic. Is the railway minister looking into these? It's time he did.

It is essential that we appreciate the improvements that have so far taken place. But we must not forget all that's left to be done. This is no time to be satisfied and experience solace.

It is time that India moves forward, ahead of doubts and inhibitions. If the confidence in words can be translated into confident action, then a lot can be achieved. Hope our country is going that way.
