NDTV
Vikram Chandra The Dalai Lama's visit comes amidst deterioating bilateral ties between India & China. First, it was China claiming the whole of Arunachal Pradesh and then, protests over Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to, what it calls, a 'disputed region'. A war of words ensued and the Tibetan spiritual leader was blamed for undermining ties between the two countries.

Last year, the government had cancelled the Monk's visit to Tawang under Chinese pressure. Some strategic experts are of the view that the Dalai Lama's visit will further push the already strained relation to a point of no return.

Could India have done without this controversy or is it high time that India talks tough with China ?Join the debate on The Big Fight.
