When I was at the National Law School, I wrote a paper on the Moon Treaty as part of my course work. Until then, in my life, the moon had relevance only in realm of the romantic and fantastic - in terms of poetry and stories. After this course on Air and Space Law, I cant ever look at the Moon without thinking of the common heritage of mankind concept and why the US had not ratified the Moon Treaty and the economic, scientific and political implications of this! Very sad, I know!!

Dear readers, I would like to take this opportuninty to congratulate all the people(scientists and labour) who have worked under this mission. All this hardships have given them and us a fruitful result. CHANDRAYAAN is not only a step towards a moon but also a giant step towards SPACE TECHNOLOGY. The news of successful launch of MAHAYAAN - CHANDRAYAAN sends shivers across my spine. I feel proud of this wonderful event.
