”When London and cities in America, Australia can have three airports in same city, why can't we? Why close down a profitable sector,” B Chatterji, Vice President, All India Airports Authority Employees Union.
”Mumbai being a privatised airport will not be very badly affected by the strike since the staff participating in it are mainly of the non-executive cadre,” Spokesperson, Mumbai International Airport Ltd.
”The airport has to obtain license to start operations from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). However, the DGCA has made some observations on certain issues, most important among them concerns air traffic management and other technical issues,” KN Srivastava, Civil Aviation Ministry Joint Secretary.
