Conceding defeat, outgoing Rajasthan Chief Minister and BJP leader Vasundhara Raje on Monday said she accepted the mandate and promised to work as a "constructive opposition".

"I respect the mandate of the five-and-a-half crore people of the state. We will play the role of a constructive opposition and will not allow any hurdles in the development of Rajasthan," she said while talking to reporters following the poll results.

Raje, however, claimed credit for nurturing the state into one of the most developed states, from being one of the most backward when she came to power.

The saffron party leader said her government had carried out a lot of development work and implemented all the programmes announced by her.

Asked the reason for her party's defeat, she said ananalysis will be done at the party level.
