There is a new trend being followed during the month of Ramadan - the faithfuls turn vegetarian and non-Muslims fast for the holy month.
Feroz Lakadwala, a supervisor of the yet to release film Hari Puttar, is racing against time to finish his work.
Being the supervisor of the film, Feroz keeps a gruelling schedule despite the rigors of fasting and the rituals of Ramadan.
"Ramadan is very important. I have to answer to the almighty," he said.
Feroz is a vegetarian by choice and he says his eating habits enable him to balance his work with his religious beliefs.
"During Ramadan, people go to Mohammedali road and Minara Masjid to eat non-vegetarian food. They eat specialties like firni, paya, kaleji but I eat vegetarian food," he said.
Keeping Feroz company is his friend Vivek Abrol, a non-Muslim observing the 30-day fast for the first time.
Vivek breaks his Roza with his Muslim friends. Their meal is simple vegetarian food.
"I do the Roza, my friend celebrates Diwali," said Vivek.
Vivek and Feroz are the new faces of modern India proving that festivals like Ramadan often help bridge the religious divide.
